Absolutely no experience is required. In this class, a variety of ink mediums will be explored from traditional ink to Japanese Sumi Ink and a variety of markers currently on the market. Different surfaces and papers will be used in making works of art. Students are responsible for their own supplies

Absolutely no experience is required. This course is designed to loosen up the artist in their painting styles. We will do one painting each session. Composition and Layout of a painting with little effort will be emphasized along with color mixing and painting basics. This course will help artist who wish to do En Plein Air (outdoor) painting. Students are responsible for their own supplies which includes acrylic paints and canvases.

Absolutely no experience is required. Don’t throw out those books you have finished reading or some that have been sitting on the bookshelf for a while. Learn how to repurpose those blooks with a new folding technique to create hearts, clovers, a butterfly and more, the possibilities are endless. Students are responsible for their own supplies.

Tuesday is in-person at the Downriver campus

Unique Surfaces - CRFT 5057 CRN 44109 2/3/2026 to 4/28/2026 10-12 pm A variety of mediums are used with a variety of substrates (what we paint/create on).  Previously we have painted on glass, plexiglass, paper bags, canvas, paper, watercolor, gel plates.  Fun and gets you into painting.  Designed for all levels of painters. Participants are responsible for their own supplies.

Ideas & Interactions CRFT 5058 CRN 48471 2/3/2026 to 4/28/2026 12:30-2:30 pm   Each person will attempt their own version of creative painting. Interaction within the group will encourage others to attempt new creations. Teacher will encourage participants to expand on their style and accentuate their qualities. We will discuss how to begin a painting. Participants are responsible for their own supplies.

Wednesday is both in-person at Ted Scott campus and online- 

We have been doing this for the past couple of years and it has serviced the students from out of the area and out of state. The number in class is small - so if you want individualized help- this is the place to be.

 The students will determine how in-depth the class will be taught.  The freedom of acrylics is highlighted in the variety of projects that we can accomplish with this type of paint. Designed for all levels of painters. Participants are responsible for their own supplies

Advanced Water media techniques-CRFT 5088 CRN#-46263 2/6/2026 to 5/1/2026 10-Noon All mediums are used - usually whatever medium you choose is fine by me. We will delve into gelatin plates/making our own collage papers/alcohol inks/creating on yupo and masa paper. This class is designed for all levels of painters.  The class is often determined by what the students want to learn - Shirley Trevina watercolors will be looked at closely - I have a major project for you all to work on. Students are responsible for their own supplies

Painting BIG......(ALSO ABSTRACT ART) CRFT 5089 CRN#-48472 2/6/2026 to 5/1/2026 —-12:30 TO 2:30PM Due to my clerical error - the title is Painting Big - which I can also teach, but I would like to also work on abstracts. Combining these two could create wonderful work!!  And, as always, if you choose to work small, it is fine by me. This is designed for all levels of painters. Fun projects coming your way!! Students are responsible for their own supplies.
